Hi,

It looks like the Cisco PIX uses the latest PIX IOS (8.0.3) and ADSM (6.0.3) and can achieve "everything" the Cisco ASA 5500 series can do as of this writing. Any Cisco Security experts can give me a second opinion? Much appreciated.

No, PIX does not provide anything that the ASA provides there are too many feature on the ASA that are not on the PIX its just that if one is using PIX he won't realise what he is missing. The SSL VPN is an example, excluding the ease of configurations that are in the PIX. And if we talk of SSL VPN we are talking of the latest technology what everyone want from now on, this entails WebVPN, Clientless VPN, AnyConnect these are the mostly used technologies for mobile workers as they are browser-based.

There is also more security capabilities that the ASA has compared to the PIX, excluding the processing speeds.

I love ASA5500 series!!!!!!
